In addition to regular virtual events and learning sessions on thematic topics, the LD4D Network occasionally meets as a whole to share their work and plan new collaborations. Here you can find information about upcoming and past meetings.

Please also visit our events page for webinars, workshops and more.

2024 Virtual

The 2024 Virtual LD4D network meeting will take place on 5 December 2024. Event details will be posted at our events page.

2023 Virtual

We welcomed over 120 LD4D members to our annual virtual meetings on 14 and 16 November 2023. The meetings brought together our global network of livestock data practitioners to: discuss and share new strategies and tools for supporting livestock decision-making; learn about the new LD4D Solution Groups which will work to address decision-makers’ specific data needs; meet other people working on similar livestock data and decision-making challenges; and share their work in the Share Fair.

2022 Virtual

The annual online gathering of the Livestock Data for Decisions (LD4D) community took place from 26 - 30 September 2022. This year's series of online meetings, workshops and conversations helped members connect, learn and collaborate through thematic sessions that address critical topics for livestock development. The meeting was open to existing members and any data producers, data users, advocates, and other actors who are committed to drive informed livestock decision-making.

2021 Virtual

The online meeting on 9 December offered members an opportunity to learn about the latest livestock data innovations, share their latest work, and connect with other members of the community.

2020 Virtual

In October 2020, the LD4D Community met to take stock of achievements and agree on a roadmap for the next phase of work (2021 and beyond).

2020 Rome, Italy

The LD4D Community of Practice meeting was hosted by the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Rome from 4-6 February.

2018 Hanoi, Vietnam

The CoP met from 28-30 November in Hanoi, Vietnam to take stock on progress to date, debate big questions in the livestock data sphere, and discuss the community’s collective role in addressing these.

2018 Naivasha, Kenya

The CoP met in Naivasha, Kenya from 20-22 February to share progress on key initiatives and discuss new working groups.

2017 Edinburgh, UK

This meeting in June 2017 was designed around the needs of the community and focused on ensuring that LD4D outputs brought benefits to each member. A lively 2.5 day meeting resulted in a clear list of tasks for LD4D and a refocusing of the community away from the creation of a LD4D database toward a data portal and knowledge platform.

2017 Rome, Italy

The core team of the Supporting Evidence-Based Interventions project met with a range of global livestock research for development stakeholders in Rome on 25-26 January 2017. The meeting served to launch the SEBI project but also to think through the options for establishing a Community of Practice for the global livestock data community.
