Water Use & Pollution

Water is essential for life and as such is a crucial element in livestock production

Livestock need drinking water. In more industrial systems there is also a high demand for service water (e.g. washing equipment, cooling produce, waste disposal). Additionally, upstream water is important for the production of feed crops. Downstream water is important in livestock product processing. Water returning to the environment is often polluted.
