LD4D Member Innovation Spotlight: Nominate an inspiring livestock data innovation
F. Onifade (ILRI)
We want to showcase how LD4D members are solving problems that improve data, evidence and decision-making. Nominate a colleague today!
Across our network of more than 2,500 livestock data practitioners, a lot of remarkable work goes unremarked. A team in Nairobi might find a better way to collect survey data in low-connectivity environments. A researcher in Bogotá redesigns a community consultation process that meaningfully engages women livestock keepers. A data startup in Hyderabad builds an automated pipeline to help researchers save precious time. There are people across our community solving real problems that improve data, evidence and decision-making, which translate to positive impacts at the policy and farm level.
The LD4D Member Innovation Spotlight is our attempt to highlight and celebrate these stories. This regular, in-depth series dive into innovations from across our networks, and the practitioners behind them.
We're interested in all kinds of innovation that improve livestock data and evidence for decision making: a new methodology or analytical approach; a process or workflow that quietly transformed how a team works; a community engagement model that changed how data was collected; a low-resource solution that made better use of existing data. We want to highlight real innovations that inspire our members to think differently.
Starting today, and over the course of the next year, we will be seeking out stories from different regions across our network, with a focus on low-and middle-income countries.
How to take part
The nomination form is open now and stays open all year. You can nominate yourself or a colleague — peer nominations are especially welcome, because the people doing the most interesting work are often the last ones to put their hands up.
The form takes a few minutes to complete, and nominations will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Not every nomination will result in a feature story, but all will be considered.
