Prizes

The jury and audiences will select a Winner and Recognition image for each category to be featured in the LD4D 2026 Digital Calendar. Each chosen image will be accompanied by the photographer’s name, affiliated institution, and the story behind the photo. The calendar will be shared with the entire LD4D network via email to welcome the Year 2026.

By entering the competition, you’re already a winner! Your images will be showcased on our website, social media channels, and promotional materials, reaching global audiences and leading organisations—boosting the visibility of your work and your institution.

Winner Selection Process

To ensure a fair judging process, all photo competition entries will be anonymised—any information identifying the author or their institution will be removed prior to evaluation.

The Jury will gather in November (date tbc).

The Jury will select three best images from each category:

  • Two images to select the Winner and the Recognition images across each 5 categories.

  • Additional image  from across all 5 categories that will enter the Audience Favourite votes.

The judges will judge the composition of each photo. Additionally, they will take the story behind each image into consideration as a secondary factor for decision making.

Audience Favourite votes will be collected over LD4D LinkedIn with a voting poll.
