We are very lucky to have Tanager join us for this month’s Gender & Livestock Data CoP meeting!
Tanager is an international non-profit with more than 30 years of experience in co-creating economic and social opportunities that empower women, reduce poverty, and improve nutrition. They have vast experience in providing gender technical assistance to livestock businesses, institutions, and projects, including Gates Foundation investments.
We will welcome three speakers from Tanager’s IGNITE+ project:
- Sokhna Gaye, Gender Expert. Sokhna is a gender specialist with 11 years of experience in the development and humanitarian sector. Sokhna is particularly interested in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and food security.
- John Kabue, Learning and Impact Manager. John is a development professional with over 16 years of experience in monitoring, evaluations, research, and learning for adaptation skills. John has developed monitoring, evaluation, and impact measurement systems for both national and multi-national programs in sub-Saharan countries
- Bernadette Muyomi, Gender Expert. Bernadette is a multi-disciplinary gender and social practitioner with over 15 years of work experience in Kenya and internationally. Bernadette is passionate about turning transformative development ideologies into life-changing opportunities that reflect on the day-to-day lives of people and institutions.

The Gender & Livestock Data CoP Conversations take place every two months, starting in January each year. So far, we have hosted 23 webinars covering multiple topics – available in our online library.
Our community discusses a diverse range of topics related to planning, monitoring and evaluating gendered outcomes in livestock projects. These include selecting indicators for livestock value chains tackling challenges in collecting detailed gender-disaggregated data.
